Started as a jeweler, Boris found a particular interest in extraordinary self-made materials, which he frequently exhibits in his works. Craftsmanship has always had a central position in his working methods, but in stead of simply staying within tradition, he rather applies these techniques in an unconventional manner. Sometimes even tending to go off the bend, and aiming to mislead the spectator. In his work form and function have an ambivalent status, often provoking questions regarding hierarchical structures within the contemporary art and design discourse.
